In fall 2022, HCAT Arlington partnered with a local Arlington artist, Briam Montenegro , on a project to paint movement encouraging blacktop art at two local Title 1 elementary schools, Carlin Springs and Randolph. Mary Sanders, HCAT Coordinator, and Briam compiled possible ideas that could be painted on the blacktop areas and teachers at the schools were invited to vote for their favorite selections. Carlin Springs teachers chose art that was more physical activity focused to incorporate the art into their PE classes, while Randolph teachers chose more educational themed art ideas.
